The gurus are so full of B.S., so make a decision for yourself!

Joel Comm, the Adsense Guru posted about the Death of Adsense Abitrage a couple of days back. According to him,

Jennifer Slegg of Jenstar.com has reported that a number of publishers have received emails telling them that they have “an unsuitable business model” and that their account will be closed within two weeks.

Adsense AbitrageWell, I think I personally think it is a great move by Google, and they should definitely keep up to it. For the unaware – Adsense Abitrage is just a “buy low and sell high” kind of strategy where people target advertise on low cost keywords, then create a page clump full of ads to get a return click with a higher payout – from the start I felt that it wasn’t a good business strategy, or at least one which I don’t think Google would ever like for their advertisers.

Great job Google!

On the other hand…

I received an email message from one of the newsletters I subscribe to, and in almost the same time frame this is how the message went!

Kian Ann,

If youÒ€ℒre looking for a cutting edge, ads tracking formula then you need AdSpy. Matt Callen released a brand new Adsense tool that can track every single click, where they came from, what ad was clicked and even more importantly what keyword brought them there.

If your into Adsense Arbitrage then this is a must have tool. Imagine the possibilities if you knew which keywords to eliminate, and which keywords to increase your spending on.

Sound contradictory huh? One email is telling me that Google is clamping down on Adsense Abitrage, and another is telling me that they have greater tools for Adsense Abitrage sites.

Who should we follow? Follow your brain!

Who is right and who is wrong? Well… comparing the two, I’d make a decision based on business sense. Adsense Abitrage doesn’t sound like a good business model, and so I’d take Joel’s word. I’m not saying that the person sending me this email is wrong – I’m just saying that some messages ought to be thought twice.

Anyways, the decision was further reinforced with a SEO News article saying Google to Close Low-Yield MFA Accounts.

Just a pointer for Internet Marketing newbies to be forwarned

The Internet Marketing arena is full of “low-cost”, “get-rich-quick”, “ultimate-tools” that are actually just plain junk which these “gurus” paid $200 on elance.com to get programmed, and then selling them off at $17, $27, or $47, to each of their 100,000 email subscribers.

If you think something is too good to be true, it probably is. πŸ™‚

  1. Hi Kian Ann,

I think different people had different goal in mind. Some had a business mindset while some just want to make money quick. That is why there are so many method to make cash online.

  2. Hi John! Well, its true isn’t it – success means different things to different people, so they do different things. I guess the “make money quick” schemes are attractive to most people, since it is often viewed as an easy way out.

Well, lets focus on building more long term internet businesses!

  3. I agree – gurus tend to trick you in thinking they know all – but we need to learn the concept of marketing ourselves and yes learning from others is important but learning from the ones that wants to earn money is pointless since their goal is just to get your dollars for cheap knowledge

we all need to make decisions in our lives especially when it comes to internet marketing

and adsense arbitrage was good back in the day and now its hard to earn

  4. Of course the gurus doesn’t know as much as we think they know.

People are generally lazy so gurus, sell hopes, dreams & air. When you eat air, you get hungry, when the gurus sell air, they get paid.

That’s the reason why they are gurus, their job is to Grab U Rob U (GURU)

If they really know so much, why are not in other bigger markets, making more money than selling crap & junk to confuse newbies.

A good way to profit from their info, is to do opposite of what they teach. (That worked real well for me.)

  5. Ian,

I guess we all have to “pay for education” when we get started. haha!

    Samuel,

ROFL! What a great way to put it! GURU = Grab U Rob U! Great that you have carved out means to profit from the Internet without the teachings from the “gurus” πŸ™‚

  6. Hey Kian Ann,

I really have to agree that there’s an overflow of self proclaimed gurus. Every other day, a complete unknown person pops up claiming how his product is going to be the next big thing and why everyone should listen to him.

Frankly, some of these products are really junk.

And yup, I’ve never been a fan of Adsense arbitrage so it’s really time Google stamp down on them.

  7. Calvin! Thanks! Well, actually I really don’t blame people who start to proclaim themselves as gurus… anyway the “original” gurus started it themselves! πŸ™‚

  8. 😎 Nothing worth wile comes easy thats for shure and to build any business just around adsense would be stupid in my opinion.Things like adsense arbitrage is a short and stupid way to try making money on the internet so it pretty much doomed from the beginning.
