Subculture Niches

Darren from Blog Republic has a really nice post – The Dumbest Things are Usually the Biggest Hits… hah! And what he says is so true. Today, you don’t have to know rocket science to make a big hit! All you have to do is to target a niche, and really focus on providing for this market.

After reading the Long Tail book, I’m really starting to appreciate this phenomenon. Ultimate and unlimited choices with efficient distribution! Its so wonderful.

In his post, the example Darren gave was the console gaming market. Now, today, the console gaming market is already a huge one! If you have ever surfed through the Clickbank marketplace, you will notice some products dedicated to an even smaller market within that market, like focusing solely on the PSP market. In fact, if you dig deeper, you can even find even more niche, like this PSP repair guide!

Now imagine what “PSP downgrading” would mean to the person who has recently upgraded his PSP and have found incompatibilities in the games. He’s frustrated because he’s unable to finish his role-playing game, and he felt that he’s made a terribly wrong decision to send the unit and spend that money for the upgrade. When he surfs on to the page, he’d probably say “Wow! This IS the thing for me!”. There will be absolutely no hesitation in the purchase!

And you’d bet there are many such people out there! At least, enough to get a wonderful ROI on that guide.

On the contrary, compare that to what perhaps an overworked and sleep-starved 45 year old employee might think. He’d probably not even take the first look at the page!

The thing is, there are so many subcultures and niches in this world, and one product maybe the ultimate hit in one subculture, but way back in the tail of another!

Chris from Online Breakthrough also shared his thoughts about niche traffic:

You will be absolutely shocked at the results you will get from attracting the right niche traffic that finds your web or blog site most relevant. Conversion rates will be higher and revenues are bound to shoot up dramatically.

Have you thought which niche or subculture your blog or website is targeting? Well unless you are as big as Sony, you’d better start thinking about it!

NicheBOT v2 launched with a $1 trial

Yes, keyword researchers out there, I’ve just received an email 10 minutes ago from Jim Morris about the NicheBOT 2 launch, and it comes with a $1 14 day trial… with a whole lot of features! Check out the new NicheBOT2! There is a video on that sales page explaining what they have added, and it seems really really impressive.

I’ve noticed that in the past nobody really talks about the old NicheBOT in doing keyword research – its always the Overture, Google Adwords, WordTracker, and even the Digitalpoint Suggestion Tool. Why is that so? Will the launch of NicheBOT version 2 change that?

The eOneNet Blog Seminar

In just 12 hours from now, I’d be attending my first blogging seminar – eOneNet launched its Internet Marketing Blog seminar sometime last week, and since its right in my small country, I guess I must go for it!

Its nothing like the BlogBusinessSummit which was recently held in Seattle (I wish I could just teleport myself there!) and while I really wonder what will be presented in the short 3 hours, and I’m really eagerly looking forward to it!

I hope with this blog seminar, I can also meet more professional bloggers in my local community. So I shall set my objective right now – to know at least 5 more full-time-blogger-wannabes!

Updates will be in by tomorrow at this time. 🙂

Oh, by the way… I’m attempting to Web2.0-ize my site, at least in terms of looks… heh. Let me know if you like the change in look.

Opt-in Lists and Email Marketing – The Key for Internet Marketers

A website has the potential to close a sale once, with a good sales copy and good value product. But sales copies typically have a conversion ratio of 1 – 5%. Even the best copies out there manage to sell 5% of the time… that is 1 in 20 hits.

So, Internet Marketers out there – how else do make full use of your traffic?

The answer lies in opt-in lists!

The thing is, not everyone who visits your page is willing to part with their money at the point in time, for some reason or another. However, this does not mean that they are not interested in the product that you are selling. When you have a mechanism to keep in touch with these potential customers, you can get these people back to your website when you have, for example, a new product, or a new investment scheme, or a time limited discount!

So, the essential Internet Marketing tool is called an opt-in list.

How do you get people to opt in?

The next question then is… how do get people to put their email down in the box and opt-in in the first place? What many Internet marketers do right now, is to offer a free service or a free report, in exchange for the email address. Another way is to propose for them to sign up for a monthly newsletter.

Once your opt-in list is filled with addresses, it is important to keep your list updated and interested. You need give these people good information, and information that they would be interested to know. While your primary objective may be to get these people come back to your website and make a purchase, it is essential to balance between emails of information and sales copies. Send out too many sales copies in a row, and you will find people unsubscribing from your list!

Email Marketing Suite

To manage your email lists, you need a email marketing suite. Well, you can email from your regular mail client, but it will take ages if you need to send a mail and your list has 10,000 subscribers! Typical email a clients are not built to handle loads like that. There are two alternative to this.

The first option to subscribe for a web based email marketing service, like GetResponse. GetResponse is one of the more recognized follow-up
systems on the Internet, and it allows you to leverage on a fast and reliable email server. With web based email marketing services like GetResponse, everything is done online – creating your email campaign, building opt in boxes, tracking your subscribers… no hassle installing software. GetResponse also features a 30 day trial, so do sign up for it and give it a go, before you make your decision to purchase.

MailLoop Email Marketing SystemUsing a web based service, however requires you to pay every month. The other alternative, is to get an email marketing software. One of these, which I know of is MailLoop, by the Internet Marketing Center. MailLoop is an email automation tool that you will have to install on your computer. I haven’t had the opportunity to give a go at MailLoop, but from the reviews and the testimonials I have read, it seems like a good piece of software if you are really into email marketing.

In doing Internet Marketing, I think it is important to buy software created specifically for Internet Marketers, and not any geeky software you find out there. I was once working with a friend on a project using a piece of software, and we greedily chose the cheaper $197 version as opposed to the original one, which was sold at over $400. It was a disastrous choice. The code was buggy, and we had to fix the bugs ourselves, wasting much time and effort.

WordPress Adsense System and the Accelerated Internet Wealth Series

I was surfing on by and I was brought back to this WordPress Adsense System. I remember coming across this page a couple of months back, and I was thrilled about how the system can help me… but I was reluctant to buy because I still have material waiting for me to watch!

Marketing Tips - Accelerated Internet Wealth Series

Back just two to weeks ago, I ordered the Accelerated Internet Wealth Series from MarketingTips.com, and I just started on half a DVD! Still got 9 DVDs to watch! So I guess I better finish one program and make sure I take action (and make money from it!) before I get started on my next one!

Also, this Saturday I will be having another opportunity to talk to some people with regard to blog marketing and WordPress Blog SEO, and I got to work on my presentation structure!

But first~! Its time for breakfast now. 😉 You see how excited I get when I start blogging – haha! Oops!
