Wow! Its been a month since I posted anything on this blog – time really flies when you get busy with work (and romance
)
I was conceptualizing “traffic generation” in preparation for a talk in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow when I found that while MySpace is a very popular portal globally, the Singapore netizens don’t seem to use it as much.
According to the Alexa Singapore Top 100, MySpace is listed all the way down at 41 place. This is a drastic difference, compared to its 6th position in the global top 500 listings.

Well, I know – many might say that Alexa rankings aren’t really that accurate, since it only logs visits from browsers with the Alexa toolbar. But frankly, and in reality, when I go out with friends for gatherings, I’ve heard friends talking about super-poking each other in Facebook, or uploading photos in Friendster, or even creating their blogs in Multiply… but I’ve NEVER heard someone say “Hey, add me on MySpace leh!”
So if you are doing online social community marketing to Singaporean, you are better off publicizing your services in Facebook, or Friendster.
