Reputable SEO practitioners know that link building is an essential process within the whole SEO process. Here are 20 ways with you can get good incoming links!
- Blog Comments – Go blog surfing, read other’s blog posts and add your thoughts in their comments. Remember to add value.
- Forums Posts – Participate in a forum your industry. The simple way to get links is in your signature. The other way is to post a comprehensive answer on your blog, then direct the readers to that blog post to get the “full answer”.
- Web and Blog directories – Submit your site to web and blog directories. Make sure the page you are submitting to is in the Google index.
- Article Directories – Write an article and submit to article directories. When writing focus on “How will I get my article republished?”
- Press Releases – Submit a press release. If you are using PRWeb.com, pay more to get more value. Make sure you really have something to announce.
- Reciprocal Links with Other Site Owners – Its okay to exchange links. Really. If you find a site that offers complementary services or products, Google doesn’t mind reciprocal links.
- Build Another Blog – Build a free blog on WordPress.com or Blogger and link it back to your primary site. As long as the content provides real value to a target audience, Google will not discount them.
- Squidoo Hubpages Facebook and more – There are several Web 2.0 sites that allow you to post articles. Use them. Also use my previous post for 6 steps to take when using Web 2.0 services.
- Submit a WordPress Theme – Only if you have the capability to do so, and you are willing to at least provide some support. Build something people will want to use, please.
- Guest Blog – Write a good post (better still, a series of posts) for someone else’s blog. Don’t over promote youself, but do leave a link. People will want to know who wrote the good stuff.
- Google Local – Own a business and have a real address? Let people know exactly where on earth you are. Add your business to Google local (maps).
- Yahoo Answers – Provide answers to people asking questions on Yahoo! Answers, and provide content from your site or blog as further resources.
- Sponsor a Site – If you find a good complementary site, offer to sponsor the blog or website, in exchange for an incoming link.
- Offer Free Samples – If you are just about to launch a product, give it for free to a select group of people for a review.
- Offer an Affiliate Program – After you have released your product, offer an affiliate program.
Don’t work on all these strategies at once. You might go bonkers. Work on one at a time.
