Teaching sells and blogs as an attraction strategy
Having received Problogger’s newsletter today - I have downloaded and read the Teaching Sells report by Brian Clark of CopyBlogger.com
I’d say its an excellent report and it really gives “that picture” about blogging. Brian explains that blogging is more of an “attraction strategy” rather and an end by itself, and it is so true even for my own blog here on Blogopreneur.com.
Blogging alone doesn’t make you money. Blogging helps a lot in creating an awareness, building relationships, and helping you get to potential customers, but a very very small percentage of people actually make money putting up advertisments. Its enough to cover your cost of web hosting, most of the time, but as a means to survive? I won’t count on that.
In fact, the same strategy goes for most physical book authors in the world too. Unless you have a following of fans as big as J K Rowling’s (which I assume most of us don’t), a published book is more like a means to reach out and get your name out, rather than a means to make money.
Anyway, get the report. Its pretty short and there’s even an MP3 to go along if you don’t want to read.
