Its been a while since I have updated – well, frankly, its only one day, but I felt that its been a while, because I went out and took a break from everything yesterday. Now I’m half baked from the sun… but so much more motivated to work.
You might have noticed that I have been quoting less people’s posts lately, and I used to be leaving a lot more comments on others’ blogs but I seemed to have eased down with that too. The reason for this is simply I have not been reading as much. I’ve been busy preparing for the upcoming workshop on Saturday, and also more importantly, because my Newsgator Online account seems to be taking forever to load.
Seriously, its been five minutes since I’ve last clicked on the screen but the contents are still loading.
Does that sound familiar for you too?
I think one of the drawbacks about RSS is that you are essentially picking data up from several websites, and I understand most bloggers have at least 200 feeds subscribed in their reader. That makes it terribly slow at times. For that reason, I think a robust application is required – and well, I won’t ask for too much if I am using a free web-based newsreader like NewsGator online.
How do you manage your feeds? Which reader do you use? Bloglines? Google Reader? Newsgator? Has anybody tried a non-web based reader and does it load better? I’m considering to migrate to a non-web based reader, since I’m so much into blogging. In fact, is there one that can download feeds for reading offline?
Do recommend.

Quite an interesting approach there. Good exposure with the article. You should write a free ‘expert’ article to the ST Recruit section to build upon this. Good Luck!

Thanks you for your suggestion! Actually I have that in the pipeline, once I’m done with Saturday’s workshop!

Hi Kian,
I subscribe to and read many blogs, your included and read all of them in Mozilla ThunderBird. I’ve tried a lot of feedreaders on line, offline dedicated, integrated, you name it. I like Thunderbird best because of the flexibility in grouping my feeds. For an online reader, the one I have liked the best is Google’s.

Thanks for the suggestion Dane! I was considering getting NewsGator’s Feed Demon – but with your suggestion I will go ahead and try Thunderbird!

Hi Kian.
Although right now I’m using Bloglines (and I’m extremely satisfied with it) the non-web-based RSS feed reader I have used longest is Thunderbird’s RSS reader. Try it if you want. Otherwise I think you should also give Bloglines a try if you haven’t already.

Thank Amrit!
I’ll go ahead and try Bloglines too! I remember trying a very long time ago (before I started this blog) but I dropped it for some reason… which I forgotten!
