I was catching up on my feeds and I came across an article written by Steve Rubel from Micropersuasion about How TV Will Become the Ultimate Open Content Platform, where he discussed the future of TV and why and why won’t it replace the Internet for distribution of information.
But seriously, how many of you actually still watch your nine o’clock news on television everyday? I don’t know, for myself, I’d get two email updates from ChannelNewsAsia and that is all the “official news” I read about everyday.
Occasionally, I’ll flip the papers and skim the headlines… I can’t read long paragraphs of text anymore because I’ve been scanning too much on the net.
Where do I get the rest of the information then?
Google alerts, my RSS feeds, Technorati, YouTube… I mean, why sit in front of the TV set and wait to become an “untargeted visitor” of the local news, when you can choose exactly what you want to know more about on the Internet? I think the only time I sit in front of the TV is when there is a movie screening and I want to experience the effects of my dad’s hi-fi system shaking the entire room.
Do you spend more time in front of the computer or the TV?

All my time is spend on the computer with surround sound
.
But I get all my news feeds from BBC technology and Digg, I used to watch the news on TV but its just all bad things that really don’t do people any good to watch.

Heh… My laptop screen is too small for good movie, even if I had 7 point surround sound
I still think there is a quality difference between Hi-Fi sound and computer speakers… not that I can tell the difference, but yeah, I prefer lazing on the couch in the living room too.
