Internet Explorer 7 is launched, with a new look, tabbed browsing, improved printing (now you don’t get off the page printouts like before), RSS reader, better security, and more…

And if you haven’t read my previous post about designing your blogs to be W3C compliant, and its implications with the release of IE7, then its time to get started now, especially if you have a big website!

Of course, the best way determine if you need to make tweaks in your website to look good on IE7 is to go download a copy and test!

How fast will the population upgrade to IE7? What will be the ratio of users using IE7 as opposed to older versions of IE (those stubborn people who just don’t want to upgrade  ) in 3 months down the road? With Microsoft having its Windows Update in almost every Windows XP based machine, my guess would be that the adoption rate for IE7 will be expeditious.

In fact, my web stats are already showing me hits from IE7 users.

So the browser wars go on… Internet Explorer 7 versus Firefox 2 (now Release Candidate 3). Well, to me, as long as the two big browsers don’t differ too much in the way of displaying my blogs, I’m happy. I should focus on contributing valuable content and making friends.
