Attracting Readers to Your Blog
In using a blog for publicity for your company, it is very important to know how you can make sure the readers of your blog will actually read the contents of your blog!
In the August 2006 issue of the Entrepreneur magazine, Catherine Seda, author of the book Search Engine Advertising: Buying Your Way to the Top to Increase Sales (Voices That Matter) shared about how you can attract readers to your blog!
After reading the article, I think these statements says it all:
Be a storyteller from your industry. Share your personal insights, favorite resources and relevant statistics. Reveal your name and the position you hold in your company. Blog readers don’t want a company voice; they want a personal one.
Nice.
The whole idea and advantage of corporate blogging is that people can hear a very personal voice of the person behind the computer. People want to know that they are talking to a human, not a computer, and this is really what attracts people back to your blog!
So remember, blogging is all about personal voice, and it is the ultimate platform to publish your personal voice, and write using your own personality! If you want to write boring stuff, go be a journalist or go write a press release instead! Oops. ![]()
