Singapore Corporate Blogging

Its 5:50am in the morning and I’m finally done with my second DVD of the Accelerated Internet Wealth Series which I bought a while ago, and the information in there is fantastic, it offers practical step by step ways for your to get started on an Internet business, and from there, I can actually integrate many of the techniques into my Singapore Corporate Blogging Training which I am working on, to be released by the end of the year!

I’ve also figured out the role of SEO in the whole Internet marketing plan - as the late Corey Rudl mentioned in the seminar - SEO will bring traffic, but it takes time. However, I think SEO is still important if you want on continually drive traffic to your site. You could be advertising on Google Adwords every month, and that is going to cost you money. If you rank yourself high on the niche you want for your, then the traffic will come automatically. So, I think for the long term, it is still important to work on SEO! Besides, its also a friendly ego booster for a company to rank top on Google should someone searches for their product, isn’t it?

I think one of the main concerns for Singaporeans about blogging is about privacy, about “What if I say the wrong thing?”, and get fired because of it? To answer that questions, I think there are always alternatives. The first is to of course use an Internet name, and hide under your nickname! One thing to note about this is then that words from an Internet nickname always seems less credible. The other alternative which is obviously better is to really learn how to write sensibly online. It is not difficult, actually.

Quoting a AsiaMedia article (with the source from Straits Times):

However, she cautioned that blogs might not be appropriate for every company. She advised companies to seriously consider whether their corporate cultures could tolerate the kind of open, direct communication that is required to make a corporate blog successful.

Indeed, some companies avoid corporate blogging for fear of encountering legal issues such as libel, copyright infringement and disclosure of confidential information.

I think in order for companies to embrace and leverage on the power of getting your employees to blog and promote the company’s services of products, it is critically important that the company’s management adopt a very open and understanding culture - that a mistake in the blog will not cause anyone to lose their job!
