I was reading a Blog Marketing book for the past 2 weeks. I got it from the library, so sadly, I had to return it today – only managed to skim through the last part. I think what the book says is really true – blogs have revolutionalised the way feedback is being handled for a lot of companies with a web presence.

I think one of the best things about a blog is that it is chronological in nature – and the posts are initiated only by authorised users. Online forums have been up for a long time – long before blogs, and even though there are a lot of well established forums out there like HardwareZone forums in Singapore, it is not a very pretty platform for feedback. There are simply too many threads to manage!

When using blogs as a feedback mechanisms, one must of course learn how to respond to comments positively, and this can be not easy at times. I think the author of the Blog Marketing book – Jeremy Wright, did an excellent job in his chapter in the book on dealing with negativity. When handled well, what started as a negative comment can be transformed into a story which you can sell!

Just yesterday, I have set up another site with WordPress – its a simple site, again using WordPress as a content management system. Check out the WorldSkills Singapore Network website.
